Hi, I’m Zoë and I’m one half of EmpowerFitUK.
If you had asked my younger self what my career would be, she definitely would NOT have said personal trainer! I was never a sporty person (hello, bottom set PE!) and the thought of team sports filled me with dread. But when I was at university, I took my first step into a gym and it changed my life, both physically and mentally. I grew into myself and I couldn’t have done that without the help of my first coach. So in 2016 I decided to give coaching a try and I haven’t looked back since.
Fast forward to now, and not only have I built my business helping people who were in the same position I once was, but I’ve also become a Pro Bikini Athlete and won over six first-place medals in bodybuilding. So, it’s safe to say I found a way to make the gym part of my routine— and stick to it!
Now, I want to give others the same thing my coach gave me.
While most personal trainers have a sports background, mine is in psychology and I feel this gives me a unique approach. Not only will I teach you how to elevate your training, but I will also help you address behaviour change and overcome any barriers you encounter along the way. I’m a huge believer in not striving for perfection and will work with you to find a way to fit the gym into your lifestyle, not the other way around. At the end of the day, the gym should not be a chore or something you dread!
Outside of the gym, I’m just a regular woman in her 30s. I love to read, travel, and I absolutely LOVE food (in fact, if you want coaching with a side of restaurant recommendations, I’m your girl!).

Hey I'm Em, the other half of EmpowerFitUK!

I’ve been interested in health and fitness for as long as I can remember. I used to play netball at a competitive level and fell in love with strength training at University. I love the way it makes me feel and primarily use exercise as a way to boost my mental health. I’m passionate about the mind-body connection and no matter what’s happening in life, I always turn to fitness. 
Alongside strength training I am a keen runner. I have completed several half marathons and I’ve got the itch to try a full one! I also practice Yoga daily and am hoping to complete my Level 3 Yoga qualification soon. 
As someone that experiences anxiety, I know how frightening exercise and trying something new can feel. I adopt a friendly manner in our sessions and seek to empower you with the knowledge and skills to flourish both inside and outside of our time together. We’ll work hard and you’ll leave our sessions feeling strong. I love working with people, whatever feelings you’re bringing to the session are valid and welcome. I have a background in Mental Health and appreciate the spectrum and ever changing nature of wellbeing. 
Outside the gym you’ll likely find me walking with my French Bulldog Lilo, catching up with friends, reading, painting or watching comfort shows on repeat. If you want to discuss: Gilmore Girls, The Office, Parks & Rec, New Girl etc in our sessions I’m all for it!
Our sessions can be as formal or informal as you'd like. I want you to look forward to your training and exercise in general. Enjoyment is the secret to longevity!
